GHOST Surprises Fans With Haunting Cover of SHAKESPEARS SISTER's "Stay"

GHOST, arguably one of the most enigmatic rock bands of all time, known for their unique blend of metal and melody, has recently released a captivating cover of SHAKESPEARS SISTER's 1992 classic, "Stay." This haunting rendition, featuring actor-director Patrick Wilson, takes centre stage in the final scene and end credits of the newly released horror film, "Insidious: The Red Door." GHOST's signature sound perfectly complements the eerie atmosphere of the movie.

So, how did this unlikely collaboration, we didn't know we needed, come about? Well, actor Patrick Wilson, known for his roles in the "Insidious" film series, shares how he was introduced to GHOST through Joe Bishara, the composer for the "Insidious" movies. Wilson's love for both metal and melodic tunes made GHOST an instant favourite for him.

Wilson comments: "GHOST is the perfect blend of theatricality met with musical mastery. Tobias is at the top of his game and I'm thrilled to have him on the soundtrack, and honored to sing alongside him."

With their seamless fusion of dark lyrics, soaring melodies, and striking imagery, GHOST stood out among other rock bands. As someone who appreciated the rock branding and imagery of bands like KISS in the '70s, Wilson recognised the unique appeal of GHOST and felt they embodied the spirit of the "Insidious" lore.

Tobia Forge the lead singer of Ghost the band

Led by mastermind Tobias Forge, the band's sense of melody is unparalleled. Their dark lyrics, juxtaposed with angelic melodies, offer a listening experience that sets them apart from their contemporaries. Wilson acknowledges that GHOST's music evokes a different emotional response, and he personally finds it to be a truly exceptional experience.

The chilling beauty of "Stay" resonates with the film's creepy atmosphere, with its dark lyrics beautifully contrasting the sweeping melody composed by Dave Stewart. Wilson's character, Josh Lambert, is brought to life through his vocals on the track, while Tobias Forge adds an alluring touch as the devilish "lipstick demon." The contrast between their voices and the fresh arrangement by Forge creates a dynamic rendition that captures the film's essence flawlessly.

To my ears GHOST's cover is an instant favourite! I can't wait to for GHOST's next big surprise.
