ANTITYPE & A Life Divided to Clean Up With New "Trash Metal Project"

Bands ANTITYPE and A Life Divided have teamed up to collaborate with Wacken Open Air and 17Ziele.de to launch the "Trash Metal Project". This initiative aims to raise awareness of and tackle the vast amounts of trash generated at music festivals and in society in general. To support the project, the two bands have released their new single, "Reduce Reuse Recycle." This powerful call to action urges listeners to consider the fate of our planet and to persevere in the fight for a better future.

At this year's Wacken festival, the song will be featured in a series of promotional activities, spreading the message of the "Trash Metal Project" and calling on the help of 85,000 metalheads to contribute to saving the planet.

Personally, I love this song; it bursts with hard, fast energy that gets the blood pumping – it's a real dopamine-boosting track, perfect for the gym or running. The catchy chorus and the line "Before we drown in waste, we fight it And every metalhead counts" is simply fantastic. This should be the anthem for metalheads, as they are known to be caring and supportive at shows and festivals. Whether you're knocked down in the mosh pit or lost at a massive event like Wacken, a big-hearted metalhead will always come to the rescue.

I have personally experienced this at shows like Iron Maiden, Ghost, 3TEETH, Mera Luna, and many others. A special shout-out to the Iron Maidens for helping me up from the floor in Glasgow and offering me energy jelly beans.

The sentiment of hope in this song resonates deeply, especially in a world filled with apocalyptic doom-scrolling online. It's easy to feel disheartened, thinking there's no point in trying to change the world when it seems destined for destruction. I hope the fortunate attendees at Wacken take the song's lyrics to heart and cherish this sacred ground of metal. My wish is for them to carry this message with them and make even small changes in their lives to help tackle environmental issues.

ANTITYPE the band

For those who may not know, ANTITYPE is a fairly new but extraordinary band, blending grunge, Rage Against The Machine, and Linkin Park influences into their unique style. Led by lead singer Andreas Ohnhaus, along with talented musicians Rupert Keplinger, Jörn Schwarzburger, and Christian Hon Adameit, they are "experienced road dogs" who understand the challenges of being in a rock band.

They aren't exaggerating their experience! Keplinger, well-known for his work with Eisbrecher, is a multi-platinum songwriter, while drummer Jörn Schwarzburger has an impressive track record of over 1500 shows with artists like Cher and JR Blackmore. Andreas Ohnhaus, having worked with major artists such as Snoop Dog, holds the position of Head Of Department/Principal Lecturer for the vocal department at BIMM University Berlin since 2016.
